Hardback or Paperback? depends, if it's something I really want to read then hardback, money issues usually mean paperback is more my thing though
Highlight or Underline? Neither!!!! Why would I do that to a book? It's a book for crying out loud! If something strikes me, I'll copy it onto a notepad.
Lewis or Tolkien? Tolkein although Lewis has his place
E.B. White or A.A. Milne? A.A. Milne all the way
T.S. Eliot or e.e. cummings? um.... niether
Stephen King or Dean Koontz? Stephen King when he's good, but when he's bad Koontz is better
Barnes & Noble or Borders? We don't have B&N here so I have to default to Borders.
Waldenbooks or B. Dalton? never heard of them - are they shops? Ottakers then.
Fantasy or Science Fiction? Science Fantasy. What can I say? I'm an awkward bugger.
Horror or Suspense? Horror
Bookmark or Dogear? Bookmark, always - how can you dogear a page on a book?! It's just wrong!
Hemingway or Faulkner? Neither
Fitzgerald or Steinbeck? Again with the neither, although if I was forced to choose I'd say Fitzgerald purely because I almost failed my English Standard Grade because of Steinbeck
Homer or Plato? Homer, I guess.
Geoffrey Chaucer or Edmund Spenser? Yawn. Dante Allighieri.
Pen or Pencil? on a book? Neither! On a notepad, pen.
Looseleaf or Notepad? Notepad, good quality all the way
Alphabetize: You know I'm a librarian, right? Does the word 'Duh' mean anything?
Dustjacket: I take it off the book when I'm reading it so it doesn't gte damaged, but I put it straight back on when I'm done.
Novella or Epic? depends. Tend to go with Epic I guess though.
John Grisham or Scott Turow? Do I have to choose? I really don't like either as authors, they have the odd good thing but.... I guess I'll go with Grisham
J.K. Rowling or Lemony Snicket? Rowling
John Irving or John Updike? Neither
Fiction or Non-fiction? Depends, most often fiction
Historical Biography or Historical Romance? Biography
A Few Pages per Sitting or Finish at Least a Chapter? A chapter at least, unless it's Pratchett 'cause then I'd have to read the whole book in one go... which I have done in the past
Short Story or Creative Non-fiction Essay? Short story.
"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"? The first one, all the way. Gimme atmosphere, not schmaltz!
Buy or Borrow? Borrow, if I really like it, buy.
Book Reviews or Word of Mouth? Word of mouth, gut instinct.
