life begins - me

(no subject)

I have a seminar in half an hour, "writing for the web", no really. I missed the first one a couple of weeks back but the organiser sent me the notes so I could catch up. It could be really interesting, or (and it seems more likely) it could be really dull and preaching to the choir...

The organiser knows I have a website but she's never seen it, she's also not seen the newest stuff there or INAP, unless she's a closet Xander-fan. She might be, I don't really know her all that well, maybe I should give her one of my business cards. Yes, I have business cards for the site... *g*

So, I'm off to be enlightened or bored, to be surrounded by subject librarians (who do actually fit the stereotypes I saw representing the British Library on University Challenge: The Professionals last night...)

Really must try not to phrase out the next part of Crimson Regret in my head - really must try to concentrate on the seminar....

life begins - me

snippet from work conversation:

Patsy: Shona - Journal of Physical Chemistry A. Do we still take it online?
Me: I'm not sure, I'll need to check.
Patsy: Shouldn't you know straight away?
Me: 1, I'm still in training for this job and 2, we take over 10,000 titles in electronic journal format.
Patsy: Hurrumph
Me: *sigh*
