so another weekend over and realistically it was the last chance to get much shopping done before the Christmas rush hits with a vengeance...

so of course I didn't really get all that much done.

*grin*

I did manage to take back my Sunday though, before my sister moved down to my village I used to get up early on Sundays, read the papers, have a proper breakfast, maybe do some cooking and be out of the house by 12 to do whatever I wanted to do - shopping, running, whatever. Since she moved down I've still been getting up early but making the mistake of calling her at 10ish to see if she wanted to go with me. Invariably she did and I'd end up kicking about killing time till I went up to her place, then killing time until 3pm, putting up with her "the roads are really busy, I wonder why?" comments every week and then rushing about and never getting what it was I was going for in the first place.

Yesterday? I didn't call her. Selfish of me? Probably, but damn it felt good!

Of course, once I got home, I felt guilty and went up to her place anyway where I spent most of the afternoon holding up the over-large Christmas tree her idiot boyfriend had bought (8 foot tall, for inside the house, when the stand they had was only for up to 7 foot....) while she flapped around trying to anchor it to the wall using a bit of string...

*sigh* families, who'd have 'em?
