head-desk - me

I'm so not a morning person

I've just realised this, took me a while. For the last five years or so I've been getting up at stupid o'clock (read 5:30am) so that I can get to work in time. Every time someone at work hears that they say "I don't know how you do it." My reply is always, "You get used to it."

No you don't. You don't get used to getting up at the same time you used to get home from a night out, you definitely don't get used to barely seeing your house in daylight even at the height of summer. You don't get used to it.

Can you tell I'm tired?

I left work before I had the chance to say this last night - good luck engelsteorra! You'll get it I'm sure!

Shedding tears for strangers makes me feel human again.

That's the words of one reply to the last thread on wolfmoon98's journal whose journal was linked to by liz_marcs. Mike was a soldier serving in Iraq, he was killed by a mortar attack.

I don't know Mike, now I will never know him, and yet I cried on reading the last entry in his journal. People are leaving messages of condolence as comments to his last entry if you'd like to add your name to it.

Don't you just hate it when you don't really have a full blown cold but you have the runny (and sore) nose, the headache and the tickly throat? And one second you're freezing cold and the next you're overheating?

I'm well enough to be at work, so I am here, but I just want to be curled up writing somewhere. Definitely don't want to be downloading usage stats all day which is what I'm stuck doing...

Cue bad Darth Vader impression

I've given up trying to breathe through my nose, it's so sore! *note to self: buy more Dr Bach's Rescue Remedy tonight* So I'm sitting here counting the minutes till I can go home and looking like a drowning fish, with a bright red nose.

Plus, I just got back from the vending machine, I had one pound on me and really wanted to get some orange juice for the vitamin C content. Orange juice costs £1.05. Whose bright idea was that? So I had to settle for Oasis summer fruits which really doesn't taste that good.

Ah well, fingers crossed I'll have a new episode of Lost to watch when I get home!

Heh heh!

So I watch Stargate, all its incarnations, and since I'm watching 'Brief Candle' on Sky for the umpteenth time I think it's time to admit I'm probably a fan of the show...

Brief Candle is the episode from season one where Jack is infected with nanobots causing him to age rapidly. The episode has just finished and I'm just about rolling on the floor laughing in a very childish fashion. How ridiculous does Sam Carter (Amanda Tapping) sound when she says "without these little buggers in your system"?! The inflection is so in the wrong place and it's clear she's never used the word 'bugger' in her life before.

Makes me laugh anyway!

Wait a minute, this sounds like rock and/or roll!

I hate dance music. I've always said so, I even call the Maitre D'* of UK Dance Music 'Satan Himself' - he's one of the major reasons I kinda hate the BtVS episode "The Prom". Fat Boy Slim is a talentless drunkard who should have stayed in The Housemartins.

So why is it that I love this track?!!

Weird, huh?

* I call him Maitre D' because when I tried to come up with the male version of 'Doyenne' that was the first thing that came to mind.
