willow/xander//embrace (pack) - me

(no subject)

I don't plan to say much about the aftermath of Katrina or the stampede in Baghdad. Just know that my heart goes out to each and every one of you who have been affected by these events. And if there's anything I can do, any help I can give, please let me know. And thank you to liz_marcs for the incredible amount of work you've put in to keep everyone up to date on the events in the US. Take a break sweetie - you deserve it.

As a result, fandom has been kind of quiet right now - understandibly - and I thought I'd compile a little list of the things that have brightened things a little.

naol has a new fic - Broken - underway - Nemo, you continue to amaze me with not only the speed at which you write, but the quality! Traumatic start to this fic, but I'm holding onto the hope that since it's you doing the writing there will be a relief from that by the end! (Not that I'd be complaining if there wasn't, 'cause angst can be good!)

invisionary has written a very poignant Dawn post-Chosen pov named No Happy Endings. Again with the angst, but again angst can be good - as in this case! He's also asked an interesting question about fic - how visual is it?

jgracio has a dark re-imagining of the end of season six underway at the moment - Embracing Darkness. I'm ashamed to say I haven't read the last couple of chapters of this, a fact I will remedy this afternoon, but from what I have read so far it promises to be a helluva tale! And as of this morning, a new fic - Indiana Harris. Decidely not a Hallowe'en fic, this is set post-Chosen and has Xander on the hunt for a Slayer-repelling artefact. Very cool set up so far!

thedothatgirl has a huge range of fantastic Buffy and Angel fan-videos over at her site (have I mentioned how much I love the Faith one Andrea?) but now she's also branching out into Firefly vids. Go here, scroll to the bottom of the page, download Fix You and marvel at the talent, then go leave her feedback!

Anything you think I've missed? Shout out and I'll add it asap!

(oh - and been meaning to mention this for a while now - thank you so much to whomever nominated us! INAP is nominated for the Lime Light award for fandom site at the Lie To Me Awards)
life begins - me

web news

Currently coding the new skins for INAP. There were two entries which were too close to call - the lead did change pretty much every time I checked 'em - so I'm going to code them both up for people to take their pick from. The ultimate winner will become the default for all visitors to the site though (after you log in you can choose what format you want to view the site in). Hopefully this'll be done by tonight - shouldn't take too long once I get the first page looking right - and it'll be ready for a proper launch. Yay!

(told you it wouldn't take long! The winning designs are now up at the site - congratulations to both Kayla Shay who was the winner by the narrowest of margins, and to gumboy. Both banners rocked!)

Effects - I know, it was supposed to be up last week only... I was actually physically exhausted and didn't do any web work at all. This weekend is going to be dedicated to getting this site back on it's feet. I miss it.

New site. I'm definitely going ahead with the Buffy/Xander site. I was pretty much decided when I floated the idea in the first place, but to see there is a definite place in the market for it just underscored it. Now the hard part... coming up with a name for it... *g*

That one may take a little longer to appear, hopefully it won't be too long, end of the month maybe?

So I'm on the scrounge again - content, fics, essays, graphics, videos, anything really! For all three sites, email me at shona [at] moments-lost.co.uk and indicate which site the material is for.

In other completely random stuff, I can actually go out the front door without having to keep my head down to avoid accusing stares from all my neighbours. Jamie, the wonderful window cleaner, did my garden today. I can open my gate again. The grass is back to ground level and not falling over under it's own weight. My privet hedge is neater than it's been for years! Yay!

ETA oh - and the next chapter of Crimson Regret is well underway as well. Which is why I havem't responded to any of the comments to the previous part yet - these two chapters really only work side by side so I'm keen to see what everyone thinks of the next part. *g*
