the girl who used to dance on fire and brimstone

I have the best neighbours in the world. Well, one set of them anyway. Not only is my neighbour currently taking my tyres to the garage to get them replaced for me, he's also loaned me a pasting brush and two smoothing brushes to get on with the wallpapering.

So of course I screwed up and cut the paper short but... Seriously, I measured it twice, I measured each new strip against the previous and cut extra. The first strip is more than long enough, so why are all the others about seven inches short? Because my hall hates me I think. I'm taking a lunch break now and hopefully by then I can work out where the measuring's going wrong. I suppose I could put a border in and save wasting all this paper, but I don't want a border, it's twee. (in my opinion!)

But I am loving actually doing stuff, I used to decorate all the time, my house was like the Forth Rail Bridge - as in once I got finished painting one end it was time to start again - but I haven't done anything since my mum died seven years ago (yes, my therapist and I have talked about the meaning behind that, I'm well aware of it). And I'd forgotten how much I actually like doing it.

Except for when the wallpaper's too short for the walls of course.

ETA Okay, so I've now run out of full length strips of wallpaper. So the question is, do I go out right this minute to see if I can get some more, or do I kick back, watch the new episode of Supernatural and go get the paper tomorrow? Hmmm. Decisions, decisions...

(Car's all fixed now - yay for my wonderful neighbour!!)
