It's 8 o'clock on a Friday morning...

um... oops! Forgot to post the answers to the lyrics challenge on Wednesday - sorry!

So... here they are!

1. There is a darkness deep in you, a frightening magic I cling to - Snow Patrol, You are all I have
2. Sometimes I swear it feels like this worry is my only friend - Ray LaMontagne, Trouble
3. The grey coats of the infantry, victims looking for sympathy - JJ72, October Swimmer
4. Well who gives a damn about the profits of Tesco? - Franz Ferdinand, The Fallen
5. The very things that make you live are killing you - Ray LaMontagne, Shelter
6. It’s hard to argue when you won’t stop making sense - Snow Patrol, Hands Open (the best opening couplet of a song, ever!)
7. Those three words are said too much, they’re not enough - Show Patrol, Chasing Cars
8. Now I understand why words mean so much to you, they’ll never be about you - Idlewild, American English
9. Losing coins calling next of kin - JJ72, Oxygen
10. I have no regrets, if it all ends now I’m set - Lost Prophets, Rooftops
11. Somebody cried out he ain’t here, killed ourselves a woman, that’s all - Ray LaMontagne, Narrow Escape

13. Turn on the boob tube, I’m in the mood to obey - Jack Johnson, Good People
14. Blood on her skin dripping with sin - Rob Zombie, Living Dead Girl (my mp3 player stores all the tracks in an odd order, going from Jack Johnson to Rob Zombie is almost as odd as the Lost Prophets -> Ray LaMontagne segue...)
15. One step too far is not far enough away from here - Snow Patrol, we can run away now they're all dead and gone (UK only bonus track on Final Straw, told you some of these were obscure!)
16. Ineloquence and anger are all we have - Snow Patrol, Beginning To Get To Me (good grief there's a lot of Snow Patrol on here!)
17. We’ll fight them on the beaches, yes we’ll fill ‘em full of lead - Divine Comedy, Charge
18. Something tells me this is bringing me down - Ray LaMontagne, Forever My Friend
19. Is it too late to remind you how we were - Snow Patrol, You Could Be Happy
20. The final word in the final sentence you ever uttered to me was love - Snow Patrol, Make This Go On Forever
21. My head is getting tired, darkness looms - JJ72, Snow
22. The laughter penetrates my silence as drunken men find flaws in science - Snow Patrol, Set The Fire To The Third Bar
23. She knows the human heart and how to read the stars - Garbage, The Trick Is To Keep Breathing
24. Your breakfast will get cold, I really have to go - Snow Patrol, Grazed Knees
25. For once I want to be the car crash, not always just the traffic jam - Snow Patrol, Headlights on Dark Roads (in my defence, the SP songs are from two different albums...)
26. The man on the wireless cries again, it’s over - Ultravox, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes
27. She couldn’t stand the massacre game, so she dyed her hair, adopted another name - Elvis Costello, Sulky Girl
28. She used to have a carefree mind of her own - Elvis Costello, Veronica
29. His little heart beat so fast that I am ashamed to be running away - The Futureheads, Hounds of Love
30. Days of speed and slow time Mondays. Pissing down with rain on a boring Wednesday - The Jam, That's Entertainment
31. With a careful hand he wiped at the tears that ran down my face - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds featuring Kylie, Where the Wild Roses Grow
32. The great night out that will continue till the end of the week - Athlete, Half Light

34. Flesh and bone by the telephone - Depeche Mode, Personal Jesus
35. This is where we wake in the ditch, and this is where our bodies sing no more - Guillemots, Redwings
36. Now there’s majesty in a burned out caravan - Guillemots, Made Up Love Song #43
37. And if I had you, all the stars wouldn’t fall from the sky and the moon wouldn’t start to cry - Guillemots, Blue Would Still Be Blue

My laptop seems to be *fingers crossed* working again. I let the power drain out of it completely and then tried to run it purely on AC power rather than battery reserve. For some reason that worked. Thanks for the tips everyone!

it's really odd seeing the lines out of context like this isn't it?

I should have got the rest of the Eyes Open Snow Patrol ones considering that it's been pretty much on constant repeat on my MP3 player since I got it. And the Jam ones too, *head desk*.
