West Wing was always one of those shows that I meant to watch but it ended up getting buried at stupid o'clock on the schedules and I never quite caught up with it. I'm probably going to be looking out for reruns though. I think watching the first seven episodes of Studio 60 really helped hook me in more than if I'd watched them on a weekly basis, I get the feeling after the first episode it might have been one of those programmes that I wouldn't have been too gutted if I'd missed the second one.

I do have a couple of gripes with it - it's a little heavy-handed with the political statements from time to time. Sledgehammer approach really - but the good outweighs that for me right now. Whether that lasts or not...

I think it's got to the stage now where we feel we know the characters well enough to enjoy moments in Nevada Day a lot. Oddly enough, Jack the network guy and Tom are becoming my favs so far, so I'm loving this ep. And Matthew Perry is a revelation to me - who thought there was life after Friends?

Alas, the Harriet/Matt thing ain't working for me. And the show-in-a-show bits need to be funnier.

Oooo! And thanks for the reminder to 'acquire' episode 8.

I think that was the Canadian showing - one day before the States. Nice!

Tom rocks. Seriously he is my favourite of all of the characters so far.

And with you on the Harriet/Matt thing, it's just too forced and it's becoming irritating. (Plus, I think I annoyed engelsteorra by bitching at the bits with Sting in 'em... Just too sledgehammery there!)

I've had a ginormous torrent running for the last week or so, so I haven't started the dl for part 8 yet - thanks for the link though!

The guest stars have been used in interesting ways so far. Some just turn up, do a couple of funny lines and disappear never to be seen again. Sting, on the other hand, was over-used to the point of anvilosity.

And Sorkin romances are odd - the chemistry between odd characters that just happen to be together in a scene always turn out better than if he brings people in with the romance intended. Personally, I want the reporter woman back.

And word to the torrent overload. Now that I dled all the BSG season 3 stuff yesterday, I have to find time to y'know, actually watch them.

You're evil.

You are just... the embodiement of all evilness.

And I'm at work right now with chills and fever and feeling bleugh... I've got the next couple of weeks off on annual leave so I'm trying not to take any sick days this week but right now? I just want to curl up under a blanket and have someone feed me chicken noodle soup till I either throw up or feel better...
Sharon: Studio 60 - Tomengelsteorra on November 13th, 2006 12:52 pm (UTC)
Chicken noodle soup, that sounds awesome - which is odd since I've had no appetite so far today. I wonder if I have it in me to make it down to the shop.

And I watched Studio 60 1x08 this morning. I [heart] Tom. Someone needs to make more icons of him, there's a huge shortage......

Chicken noodle soup is my "I'm sick, pity me" comfort food of choice, always has been for some reason.

And see, if you'd replied before now I coulda gone out at lunch, got you some soup and been back at work for the afternoon. But you're too late now...

And is that a hint or something?! *g*

(I have no Studio 60 icons. Woe is me. I'll just have to use the SPN porn one...)

Feeling a bit blerk? (I think I've figured out the difference between bleurgh and blerk - blerk's the one with the solid lumps in...)
the girl who used to dance on fire and brimstone: dw//trust me t-shirt - lixabizwhiskyinmind on November 14th, 2006 08:34 am (UTC)
or it could be that blerk is a word you made up and are trying to get everyone to start using.

Yes, feeling like crap, but hey - I'll soldier on...
