In the words of the esteemed Granny Weatherwax
"I Aten't Dead"

I didn't fall asleep at the wheel on Thursday and die in a horrific (and improbable) car crash off the M8 involving an escaped reticulated python being beaten soundly by a small fluffy kitten. I've just been... away, mostly.

The good news - SPN rocked. Seriously, Crossroad Blues was a fantastic episode which is underscoring the meta-type thoughts I've been having lately about the season as a whole. And the promo for the next episode? Gnnh! (Again, spoilery speculation type thoughts that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere and which totally fit the thoughts I've been having about the show.) I should really put together these thoughts into a post at some point before too much longer..

The bad news. Torchwood can't do horror. Seriously, stick to Sci-Fi next time, please? The episode wasn't too bad I guess, although how much did it cry out for a character death? (I was thinking Ianto since it's the first time we've seen him outside of the confines of the dogsbody niche he's carved out for himself, but hey, what do I know about TV? Oh... that's right... *g*) But they really can't do horror.

The slightly odd news, amongst other tastes I was mostly a rock chick in my teens and early twenties. I mellowed out a lot over the last ten years and was more emo/indie/MotR lately. So why am I now listening to the Maiden and 'obtaining' the Alexisonfire CD? (And also peeved that I can't find the Enter Shikari track anywhere)? I blame television. (not that I want to blame anything, 'cause I have no problem with being a rock chick, but seriously, the soundtrack of SPN seeping into my head every week has got to be a big part of this, right?)

Kay, I'm off to write at least 5,000 words today. I have decreed it and it shall be so. </randomosity>

You are the Hanged Man

Self-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.

With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of
loss from a situation, rather than gain.

The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.

The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.

What Tarot Card are You?

Dean girl to the end baby!

Damn straight!

Although, as a friend and I were saying the other day, I might kick Sammy out of bed - but only so I could shag him on the floor...

(*can't quite believe I just said that again*)

yeah, 'Trina and I were kinda not able to stop laughing over that last week.

(and truth be told, it was actually first said about John rather than Sam... what can I say? Dean might be number one but I wouldn't say no to any of the Winchester boys...)

And my mind is permanently in the gutter, so welcome home!

Yeah I like John too-I don't care if JDM is much older than me-I find him hot!

Dean is still number one for sure, but they all,to put it bluntly, make my ovaries explode!

I watched the show with my parents and believe me,I had to hold the fangirling back. Damn, that was hard.

the Usual Suspects episode is actually the only episode I've watched with another person - and she's a Sammy-girl (although she's in the same boat of 'wouldn't say no'). Especially with the handcuffs and the being thrown against the wall, I was finding it really difficult to keep the Dean-centric fangirliness to a minimum during that episode!

On a related thing, I said to my sister that I was really into this show, she asked why, I told her all the reasons and ended with "and the guys are really hot". She now thinks I'm shallow. Moi? Shallow? Never...
