*giggles*
Yeah, House of Wax really is shit isn't it?

Switched it off after five minutes, sorry, not even Jared could keep me watching...

However, Wrong Turn is surprisingly good - and not as gory as I expected. Although it's gory enough, I was going on the memory of Gil and smileawhile's faces whilst they watched it and I played hostess by getting the pizza and popcorn. The bit where they're under the table? Does it make me seem jaded to say I've seen much worse?

Wicker Man is, as always, awesome. (Director's Cut,  original, not the decidedly dodgy sounding remake of 05? 06? something like that!)

tries to stave off Wrong Turn crossover fic bunnies...

Not sure what's up next. In front of me I have Devour, The Crow, Pinata, Vampires, The Exorcist, Donnie Darko (which I have yet to watch sober and tonight will not break that run) and Cube. In which someone gets cut into little itty squares (or cubes, if you will) in the first minute. Graphically. On screen. And David Hewlett (SGA's Rodney MacKay) *almost* makes it to the end of the film... but not quite. I will decide after one more beer methinks.
(Oh! INAP peeps - there's a story I haven't yet validated or knocked back in the archive, it's... *that* one. (not the one that had Liz on the white hot rage, but the one we've been debating with each new part). I haven't had the time to take a proper look at it but I want to go over each part - so for the rota person next week (Nemo, I think?) Leave that one - I'll have it resolved one way or another this weekend.)

(And I'll stop spamming my flist soon - I promise!)

ETA OOOO!! Edited to change my icon, because though I have this in keywords a Faith//million lies - it's actually Jessie from Wrong Turn. I was running out of time in an icon challenge (maybe iconfic150 which vanished and took my 50 fics with it when the maintainer deleted the comm?) and had to use the pictures I had on my laptop, including the Wrong Turn promo pics...

ETA (hey, I can still HTml code after 9 Stellas! Yay!) Does anyone who knew me in say... 1993/4/5/6 remember what it was I used to sing whilst drunk? I was thinking it was "You've got a friend" (The Wetx3 version, not the Carole King version, but that's not right. It's a Wets cover song, I remember that much. But right now the only thing I've got the lyrics for are the first two verses and choruses of Van Morrison's "Stoned Me" (which shows up on my Last.fm page as Full Force Gale for some reason...). smileawhile? Remember Mharie's birthday when you all threw water over me after I was demonstating majorette routines in the corridor of the Halls of Residence? What song was I singing at the top of my lungs whilst ensconced under Annwen's desk?

third edit *grins* yeah, so it's "I Feel Fine". "Baby's good to me, you know, he's happy as can be, you know, he said so. He said so... and I'm in love with him and I feel fine..." (Which Wet Wet Wet - amy_star_ they're probably the answer to my musical secret question - only did live at the Big Day, a 1989 charity fundraiser in Glasgow organised to raise money for Shelter (homeless charity).)

*drunken grin* I'm going to bed now, I will stop spamming you. I swear.

Next Winchester Day I'm totally doing the Zombie movie thing!

Did you see jetpack_monkey gave me some horror film recs in one of my many other posts today? He's a dude who knows what he's talking about. (*grins at Nate, who will probably end up reading this...)

I'm quite happy I don't have a credit card right now, because the fact that my DVD player's not working means my computer's playing all my DVDs right now (yay for being graphically inclined and having a kick-ass monitor!) so I could be tempted to buy pretty much every film I've had rec'd to me today just because I'm online, I've had a few beers and a lot of strawberry laces - and strawberry strips. How do they make sugar sour? Like on fizzy cola bottles and strawberry strips? It's probably some horrible chemical process that will sicken me if I find out... so I'll just go back to watching Cube I think... *g*

Get the region 1 DVD with the commentary - of Cube that is - you can't get it in the shops but watch eBay. That's how I got it (on the rec of a girl at work who's a huge DH fan).

It's AWESOME!

*pets pretty zombie!Steve....*

*grins*

well it's true.

Seriously man, you're like my yoda when it comes to the kinda films I should have seen in my youth (if it hadn't been for one of my frineds being a complete chicken and making us switch off Poltergeist before the end, resulting in me ever-so-slightly freaked out by large mirrors to this day...)

Body Snatcher, on the list. Check.

(AND DUDE! YOU HAVE SPN ICONS NOW! YAY!!!)

yeah... Stella Artois may claim to be reassuringly expensive, but since they were the only beer in the fridge on offer (and therefore the beer I bought), they are evil.

See I hate horror movies but I watched wrong turn, no guessing the reason :-)

All through it I was thinking god these inbreds are so lucky she's not you know who, make for a very short movie that.:-)

On SGA I'll mention in passing what do you think of the big W rumour ?
the girl who used to dance on fire and brimstone: faith//million lies - mewhiskyinmind on July 13th, 2007 10:03 pm (UTC)
Dude - when she swung the axe at that freak towards the end? All I was thinking was "Faith would have cut him in half there..."

*grins*

I know no rumours - I'm a spoilerphobe! Although dammit, you have me intrigued now...
tessarintessarin on July 13th, 2007 10:11 pm (UTC)
I really liked the tree escape after the Ranger's cabin wasn't expecting one of them to bite the dust there.

I'll keep stum on the rumours so as to not spoil you then.

I didn't think the chick... (dude, witness my natient feminism go out the window in the presence of alcohol - *chick*?!) would make it throught he film, I had her marked as Victim #3, not Victim #4 - so I was kinda cool with her making it that far. But as soon as she did the whole thing where she kept taking a step forward and then stepping back and grabbing the tree I knew there was no way she'd make it to the ground.

Man, I hate being able to *read* a film sometimes... My degree was excellent, I learned a huge amount, but I cannot now watch *anything* without analysing it.

Thank you! I had no idea about Beckett last year and ended up loving that episode, so I'm kinda determined to stay as spoiler free for as many shows as I can this year. :)

MARY!!!

*glomps you*

I've missed you sweetie!

I'm slightly drunk right now, on fewer beers than nromal but that's probably because I shouldn't be drinking on top of the antibiotics but hey... WINCHESTER DAY!!! (Friday 13th, wenchpixie wrote a fic about it last year and it's now becoming an institution)

Vampires is next on my list to watch (after Cube, because the commentary is funny!).

*huggles* how are you?

I got the necklace, I absolutely adore it - it's just beautiful.

I think I'm in a huge minority that actually liked wrong turn, then again, Eliza is my wifey so...

Devour had such promise (Jensen and Shannyn Sossamon= win!) but it was still a bit too wtf for my taste. If nothing else fails, there is a lot of pretty.

I liked Wrong Turn, I'm glad I bought it now (even thought it's only been played in my house twice and I've only seen it once!)

Devour... oh the pretty...

*ahem* sorry, got distracted there! Since I'm a little innebriated right now I probably shouldn't say that I was drunk when I watched Devour but I did text/SMS wenchpixie about half way through it saying "Dude, there's not enough alcohol in the world...". Although, I did watch it all and I don't think I'll ever quite make it to the end of House of Wax so...

Jensen=pretty
Eliza=awesome

Eliza/Jensen are my rpf OTP, I fic them far too much. Oh them and Jared Padalecki/Zooey Deschanel but... that's another story. I didn't mind HoW that much as I like Chad which my friends never quite let me live down looool but I mourn the loss of Jared (and his beautiful hair) in that one.

You know, I have told the husband that should he ever divorce me, I'm marrying Hewlett next. Because Ackles is so totally out of my league, and hey, Hewlett is at least Canadian... I've got a shot there, right? *g*
That said, I've never seen all of Cube. The one time it was on TV and I had the day off we had to go to dinner with the in-laws, and Chris wouldn't let me skip to watch it. The bastard. I have, however, seen Cube 2.... only for Geraint Wyn Davies. He's also why I sat through American Psycho 2. *sigh*
My movies tonight were Cry_Wolf (aww, J-Pad and Sandy onscreen together!) and the gloriously awful Cherry Falls. I often wonder about that movie... it stars Michael Biehn (still my favorite part of the first Terminator movie, after all these years), Brittany Murphy and Jay Mohr. And it is so horrid. I lurve it. It's called Cherry Falls.... and they have a 'Pop-Your-Cherry-Ball' in it. Because the killer is stalking virgins. Indeed.
I've seen it four times. I will see it again.

well hellooooooo,

Just doing my weekend swing by LJ and thought I should reply. First I apologise for ever having thrown water at you, I can't think of any reason why that would be necessary right now. I really am quite embarrassed that I did that :$ Anyway saying as I can only vaguely remember throwing said water coupled with the amounts of alcohol and ridiculous stuff I've had to study recently I think those memories have fallen out the back of my head somewhere along the line. So can't think what song you would have been singing at all.

Oh and Big Day was 1990... year of culture and all that square slice wi your croissant ;)
