And now for something completely different:

Finally! (coke) The meme that the lovely purplephoenix03 tagged me for days ago!

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

 House Rules - Kane
I was at one of my lowest ebbs when this song was made available on the band's MySpace page. A friend ripped the MP3 and sent me it and I spent the entire afternoon at work listening to it on a loop in one earphone. I got reprimanded for having my headphones on and therefore not being approachable (since I'm a supervisor it probably does matter) but I didn't care at all. Yes, this song is unashamedly country rock n roll, yes it's a li'l bit cheesy, but damn if it doesn't still make me grin every single time I hear it. Welcome to my house, buckle up tight...

Running To A Stand Still - U2
I've been a U2 fan since the mid-80s when I was first introduced to their music by my music teacher at school. I immediately got ahold of their back catalogue and for the longest time couldn't actually get to sleep unless I'd heard at least one U2 song in that day. (Yeah, my weird slightly OCD ways were probably quite noticeable then, if only I'd thought about them!) I have three favourite U2 songs. Bullet the Blue Sky - the song that first made me a fan; Mothers of the Disappeared - the song that appealed to the political idealist in me; and Running to a Stand Still. For the longest time there was nothing to make me pick one favourite from those, but then...

Steve sang Running to a Stand Still at the Half Moon gig in Putney. And at the Barfly in Camden later that week he played it again, for me. And blanked on the lyrics and asked me what they were. So now, guess what my favourite is? This is the U2 original because it is still awesome even though it's not Steve... She is raging, she is raging, and a storm blows up in her eyes...

Living's A Problem (Because Everything Dies) - Biffy Clyro

Mon the Biffy! This band are local to me, have been around for a few years now, and are *this* close to hitting the big time. This particular song is one I'm listening to a lot at the moment because I have a vid bunny plot for it. I've also used the lyrics in a graphics present I made for starhawk2005's wedding. I absolutely adore the unpredictability of the music in here, even though I've heard it hundreds of times it still catches me unawares. I fear God because everything dies babe, Got a gun in the back of my car, A spasm of good sense is making my eye twitch, I've had enough of all your consolation

Journey - Jason Manns

Oh Jason! Even though you claim your sense of rhythm is crap, we love you anyway. This is my own personal favourite song of his (and I was one of those who lead the cheers at Asylum which prompted you to say "Wow, didn't expect that reaction..." - you should have, it's a damn good song!) Armed with our guitars and armed with emotional scars, our journeys are under way...

Hundred Mile High City - Ocean Colour Scene

The guitars in this song are a thing of beauty. The lyrical content isn't particularly inspiring but when you get guitars sounding like this - who cares? (And what made you think this is the soundtrack to Paths Crossed, huh? *g*) So I said I'm on the roam and I need a car, and I know that I'm getting alive, and I say I got Faith and a season, and I say that's where I'm going to...

Another Way - Jeff Fiorello

Oh, Fio! Just... I don't know what else to say other than go buy this man's album. I take the time, though I find it is rough sometimes

Pinata Novia - Steve Carlson

This is the Spot in the Corner version because I have some issues with the reworking of it that appeared on Groovin' on the Inside. This is a wonderfully intricate little song that manages to mellow me out and make me smile every time I hear it.like an hourglass, my heart fills up, but I’m losing my mind over you

So now for the tagging thing... how about amy_star_, wenchpixie, acme54, acrazywench, booster17, invisionary, and geminilove_ca (because what better way to get to know you?)

And... I was going to title this post "Finding Nemo" but... has anyone heard from naol lately? nemo_gravisNemo? Dude? Hope you're okay, let us know?
