Open letter
Dear Vidders and Graphic Artists,

I completely and utterly applaud you having your websites to showcase your talents. I totally understand you using graphical buttons or banners to link to your work, but please, for the love of all connections that are a little slow, learn to use alt text? It's not that difficult, really.

<a href="link"><img src="URL of the picture" alt="a description of what the picture is, the title of the vid or piece of art would do!"></a>

See? Easy. And it means people with slightly slower connections and who are using up a lot of the connectivity downloading your vids, can actually find them quicker.

Yours, not psychotically in the least,

Sho (no kisses this time)

I'm mostly hiatusing right now - busy with a million and one things that seem to be piling up in an effort to overwhelm me. :)

Hee - no, not really. Or at least, no more than I am myself.

No, it's the other sites that you and I have been to in the last week or so which are nothing but pictures and links. Last night the pages were opening up but it was taking a good ten minutes or so to load the pictures which meant I was sitting twiddling my thumbs waiting for the link I was looking for.

The other thing about it is that it's a big W3C accesability thing - screen readers for visually impaired people use the alt text in the first instance so when there's no alt text it really limits the number of people who can use the site. Does that make sense?

Aha Now I understand, and I didn't even need extra coffee.

Some mornings I really get into dumbass mode.
