Oh daytime TV...
so I'm lounging around, listing the things I need to do today, an the TV's on. Escape to the Country. A show where a family looking to move out of whatever city they live in and go rural get shown a bunch of houses that someone thinks might fit their specs.

Today's couple have a 14 month old daughter and the woman is heavily pregnant. They just said they wanted to move to the countryside because "we want the children to keep their innocence".

Ha!

And again I say, HA!

I'm a country girl, born and bred in a village.

Hands up anyone who thinks I'm innocent?

ETA speaking of villagers not being innocent... some little sod's nicked my ladder. I bet I know exactly who it was as well, little bastard.

There's no way I can argue with you. You're not innocent.

Ah yes, quite a bunch of us, isn't it?unhobbityhobbit on November 30th, 2007 10:47 am (UTC)
I'm sure that living in a village and having nothing else to do gave me more time to look up inappropriate things on the Internet.

Sorry petal but you and 'innocent' don't exactly go in the same sentence together!

Oh my stars! Trust me, even in this country, rural areas are not that innocent.

I certainly would agree with you about 'innocence'. However, there's a lot to be said, I think, for growing up in the countryside when you're very young. I lived in the country until I was ten and then moved to the city and in many ways I think that was ideal. When you're a young'un living on a small farm is unbelievable fun; there's so much to do and explore. As a teenager though, small town life is pretty unbearably dull and moving to the city for that was great.
