So all day I've had a song in my head. It's one that always springs to mind on my birthday, and which probably says a lot about me personally. (just to let you know, since my humour doesn't always come across all that well through the medium of type, I am sitting here with a wry grin on my face).

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to...
Cry if I want to...
Die if I want to..."

Honestly, it's been kinda the internal soundtrack of my birthday for as long as I can remember. Not for any particular reason, I don't like the song, I never had, but it's in my head.

I guess I've had a pretty good birthday in a way, I got paid a day early (actually, the money's probably been in the bank since Friday to be honest!), I've only fallen once, I haven't fought with anyone, and I made my youngest niece laugh all afternoon. (She's seven months old, she's at the stage when she's shy of strangers or people she doesn't see every day, all I had to do was pull a face and she was giggling away.)

My present from the kids ('cause it's from them, not my sister) is a canvas they all painted for me. All four of 'em had a hand in it and I managed to figure out which parts of it each of them had done. It's lovely. And I'm not just saying it 'cause I'm an Auntie, or maybe I am. Wanna make something of it? And I got a posed photograph of all four kids, and a single shot of my eldest nephew's first school photo. Very cute, much appreciated, but now I have to get them framed which is going to be fun...

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! I hope I've answered each and every one of you personally, but if I've missed you so far I want you to know I really appreciate it!
